Happy New Year! We’re jumping into this year with weddings on our mind, and are paying some extra special attention to bridal showers. We’ve hosted countless bridal showers up to this point, and we’ve really learned all the ins and outs. So we’re here to share some details that you may be forgetting when it comes to your bridal shower games - because we’ve really seen them all now!
Bridal showers are meant for all the ladies to come together and celebrate the bride. What better way to do that then with games and activities that let the guests get to know each other better? You may be thinking: “I already knew I had to have games!” But hear us out. Your bridal shower games and activities are the main source of entertainment at your event, so that means you need to have more than 1! Consider a few different types of games to keep your guests entertained throughout the entire event. Think about when and where you want these games to be played. Here are a few suggestions:
1. Welcome games - these are meant to be played as soon as your guests walk through the door, in order to set the atmosphere of a really fun afternoon! Consider activities where guests have to guess how many pieces of candy are in a jar, or match baby photos to the bridal party. Easy, quick, and effective!
2. Table games - the perfect way for your guests to get to know each other better is to have them enjoy activities with the other guests at their tables! Easy to play during your meal, consider games where guests have to ask each other questions, or have to work together to answer questions about the bride-to-be. You want your guests to have a great time with the people they’re seated with!
3. Active games - once your meal is over, you want your guests to get out of their seats and mingle! This is where active games come in. We love indoor corn hole (in your theme colours, of course!) and making a wedding dress out of toilet paper rolls. Just remember to keep a broom handy to clean the mess up!
4. Group games - you’ve welcomed your guests to the event, you’ve ensured they’ve gotten to know their table mates, and you’ve made sure they gotten out of their seat and mingled. The last type of game you should consider is something that brings the whole group together - everyone at your bridal shower! You can host a trivia or even organize a “find the guest” bingo. Whatever you do, your guests are sure to join in!
5. Unique Activities - if you’re looking for something other than a game, then doing activities together for your bridal shower is a great idea! Consider a floral arrangement making workshop, a paint night, or even a wine tasting. These activities paired with your favourite games will create an afternoon that no one will forget!
